28 June 2021 Update:
Well, that was Cogfest 2021
There were 185 riders on the sportive and 101 on the family route, totalling over 10,000 miles ridden by Cogfest cyclists – whoop!
We had riders from all over the country including Southampton, Devon, Shrewsbury and Portsmouth. Please comment below if I’ve missed you! We had four tandems and all ages from baby to octogenarian!
We served over 225 bacon sarnies, countless coffees and enough homemade cake and cookies to sink a small battleship, and that’s not to mention the hundreds of bananas and jelly babies our cyclists consumed!
We sold over £800 worth of second hand bikes, directly raising £330 for the Minch School PTA, and we were able to donate four unsold adult bikes to Prodigal Bikes.
HUGE thank you to all our volunteers (56!!!), everyone that baked yummy goodies, Longfield Hospice, Henry’s, Hobbs Bakery, Taylor’s Butchers, Winstones Ice Creams, Artisan Ales, Edemo Bikes, Stroud Valley Velos.
We received an email “Yesterday was the first sportive I have done – it was the 30 mile one – and I thought every member of your team did a brilliant job. The organisation was excellent and efficient whilst keeping it light-hearted and fun. Unfortunately I enjoyed it so much that I might have to do the 60 mile version next year by which time I will be 74 years old!”
A special mention to the ladies who helped with compassion during the situation near Oaksey. And also a big thank you to everyone who helped with the fall in Cherington. We hope everyone is recovering well x
Please watch this space for photos arriving in the next few days of you all riding! And also watch this space for the date for next year’s Cogfest to pop in the diary
Enjoy wearing your Cogfest tshirt – we all do!
Thank you to everyone who took part – we can’t wait to see you again next year
